Child-on-child sexual violence and sexual harassment

One of the most difficult situations that school leaders can face today must be an accusation of child-on-child sexual violence or sexual harassment. According to the NSPCC, one in 20 children in the UK has been sexually abused, and around a third of sexual abuse is committed by other children and young people.

Therefore, unfortunately, it is quite likely that during your career as a school leader, you may have to deal with cases of this nature. Our advice covers the statutory guidance and provides useful information to help you plan for and respond to reports and cases of sexual violence or harassment.
