Sadly, we know that every school is likely to have to deal with bereavement at some point. This can be an enormously challenging task for school leaders and their staff, and very few of us have ever received any specific training on how to deal with such an event.
NAHT has worked closely with the charity Winston’s Wish to produce a template policy on bereavement that schools may wish to adapt and amend to suit their needs.
